I have had the pleasure of spotting and hanging out in various airports. Some airports are just amazing for aviation fanatics, with unique spotting locations and a variety of aircraft. Some airports are unique machines in themselves, and the airport design and function is as much fun as the airplanes themselves.
Some of my favorite airports:
- amazing spotting location by the famous In-N-Out Burger, love the AA
and the TBIT
- there used to be a great outdoor elevated viewing deck on the top of the parking garage at the old terminal 1
- busy, interesting, densely packed. Personally like the UA
island terminal best of all
- beautiful facility, great A/C, flowers everywhere
Kai Tak- of course, the most amazing approach in commercial aviation history
Chek Lap Kok- voted best airport 2005 with good reason, clean modern design, open spaces, beautiful and functional filled with international widebodies.
Would love to hear of other members' favorite airports and their specific reasons?
