Your Help Please..... What Carrier To LHR?

Tue Jul 04, 2006 3:21 pm

The title pretty much sums it up. I will be heading to London for a Chelsea football game in March and looking for the airline with the best service and a/c, along with an interesting routing. I will be leaving from PHX so BA comes to mind right away, but input from you guys is always helpful.

Thank you very much

Even though the routing isn't exciting I would go for the BA direct 744 for service.

With the price of tickets at Chelsea, I'm surprised you have any money left to fly to London  Wink
it's the bus to stansted (now renamed National Express a6 to ruin my username)

  • VS LAX - LHR
  • VS LAS - LGW
  • NZ LAX - LHR

All with appropriate feed from PHX ...

If you want to keep your longhaul flight short, what about connecting in DEN or somewhere further north-east of continental USA ?
Or use FI out of SFO or MSP ?

If you want an interesting routing, you could fly:

CO: PHX-IAH-EWR-LHR (VS Codeshare)
AA: PHX-DFW-ORD-JFK-LHR (BA/AA) (DFW-ORD could be 777)
UA: PHX-DEN-ORD-IAD-LHR (Hub routing could offer 777/747)
DL: PHX-SLC-CVG-LGW (Hub routing could offer MD-90/767 )

Cheers from BDL and BAF,  wave

If you are routing through LAX, try NZ. New products on the 744 and good service

One interesting routing would be PHX-MEM-AMS-LHR-AMS-DTW-PHX on NW/KL

tons of skyteam miles, cool airports, and nice, brand-new A330's accross the pond with Avod and no-adapter-require power ports in coach.

If you go through AMS, you can also fly to LCY

Get to MSP on HP. Then hop a NW DC-10 to LGW.

By march (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how one looks at it), I think all the DC-10's will be gone.
