Pilots: If Your Aircraft Had A Theme Song...

Thu Jul 13, 2006 10:24 pm

If your aircraft had a theme song, what would it be?

I'd give the DC-9 the song "Like a Rock" from the old Chevy commercials.

How about the 727, DC-10, 747, 737, Airbus, etc...?

Though not a pilot, when I hear this song - the DJ Ferry Corstein remix of the song "Sweetest Dreams" by Corderoy - I am always reminded of flying on Concorde.

Personally, a lot of great 70s hits makes me think of flying. Anything by ELO, Baccara, the Bellamy Brothers. All that music is great for airline commercials!

Since AF's TV commercial is on french TVs all the time, any AF aircraft will have the following theme song :

Title : Between Us
Album : Bleed
Artist : Aswefall (without spaces)

"For all the miles, that lie between us... away with the sea.... away with the sea..."

Fantastic, zen, relaxing song.
Cheers

For a Canadian north or first air 737-200 it would be ''shake rattle and roll''.

For AIRBUS aircraft to be more specific I would put any track from SHILLER, a GERMAN electronic group , any song from the "LIEBEN" or from the "TAG UND NACHT" albums.

Easy, the MD 80

And just cause HP started off with 732s flying them PHX - SJC, I'll always associate that aircraft with "Do you know the way to San Jose?"

747 "Brickhouse"

A320 "Taking Care of Business"
"Just because I know how to get off a freeway doesn't mean I know how to get back on!" - Retard Joe

thats a bit touchy init and a bit harsh considering the background you come from
the captain has now dimmed the lights for take off this is a routine procedure for flights during the hours of darkness!

I'll do one for any TWA Aircraft (after the AA merger): "Little Lies" by Fleetwood Mac.

Right Said Fred

(it's sad that I remember that...)

Here's an odd one: I always think of flying, and particularly flying from the old Byrd Airport (RIC) whenever I hear Paul McCartney's "Silly Love Songs" because the first time I ever heard that song on the radio I was in the car on the way to RIC to fly to Denver for Christmas. It's weird how a song can remind you of something completely unrelated to the song.

DC-9 AC/DC "You Shook Me All Night Long"
A320 Weird Al's Another One Rides The Bus"
A380 "Whole Lotta Rosie"
A350 Dio's "Always a Mystery"
B747 "Rocket Ride" by KISS
B757 "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress."
