A Little Non Rev Help Needed

Sat Jul 15, 2006 9:38 am

ok do any of you like having a delve through possibilities for non revs and working out weird and wacky ways of getting somewhere?

I need to leave heathrow on the 24th July, I need to be in Sydney by approx 4pm on the 27th for my flight upto the gold coast.

I have left myself a few extra days, I work for united and was going to go LHR-LAX-SYD however loads may say I have to go via IAD first however they are creeping up and up and I am now getting worried I shant even get out of heathrow on the 24th. If I dont I may have to just go the other way on another carrier.

I am fairly sure the united flight out of lax is a no no and have looked into a QF which looks ok.

I have been looking at that flight loads website tonight trying to figure out how best to get there on an ID90 or zed fare etc.

I am currently thinking of the chances of 9w to india as I can get a good deal on them, and then to kuala lumpa or singapore and out of there.

any other way I am missing?

united is busting out of lhr on the 24th, I guess all other airlines will be the same with the school hols etc....wonder if there is a chance on AA etc.

helppp me please lol all ideas no matter how weird and wacky appreciated, I have even considered going to frankfurt paris or brussels to connet to a united flight there..but they are as bad as heathrow.

Have you considered AC via YYZ-YVR-HNL-SYD?

LON-SYD flights are a pig from hell from NonRev point of view, very difficult indeed, loads are high year round. Coming up on UK school hols etc, it's going to be tricky. Even if you get on, theres a strong likelihood of getting bumped off in BKK or SIN.

Have you considered going via the Far East ? Get yourself to Japan, Seoul or HKG and fly down - you might even get a flight direct to BNE or CNS, so no need to go to SYD at all, if your headed to the Gold Coast anyway.

You could fly VS to NRT and the JL or QF direct to BNE. VS loads on NRT aren't particularly heavy at the mo, so you could get lucky......

just a thought..

Let us know how u get on..

LHR-HKG-SYD on VS is possible... the HKG-SYD sectors are quiet at the moment and LHR-HKG is served by about 7 or 8 flights per day between VS, CX and BA...
