LON-NYC This Weekend Need Ticket Help!

Wed Jul 19, 2006 7:23 am

I'm amazed how little star alliance options there are for getting to New York from London.

Last week I had to fly BD LHR-DUB then AC from DUB-SNN-YYZ-LGA and return on via YUL on sunday... £600 but still it was unusual and it worked.

I'm trying to maintain my Star Alliance gold status but this week ive got virtually no options for Y Class under £800 !!

I dont care the routing or the travel dates or the Star Alliance airline or the times as long as i'm in NYC between Monday-Friday inclusive !
I'm open to buying two tickets and killing time in some place for this weekend or next or both weekends..

I noticed that various european cities have good air fares (LO has WAW-NYC for £400), and SQ has FRA-JFK for £450 any day except the weekend !

but for London we're looking at £850 !

Since UA dropped it's 2nd daily JFK route their flights to the US have always been sold out - all classes take a look! - This flight used to be my lifeline for last minute tickets.

Anyone any clues ?

As i'm on expenses ive some leeway on price but air fares way and above the cheaper options are a no no !

Worst case scenario I'm going to have to go BA for 0 useful airmiles ! (Funny thing is I'm working at BA this week even though I dont fly with them).
So far in 2008 45 flights and Gold already. JFK, IAD, LGA, SIN, HKG, NRT, AKL, PPT, LAX still to book ! Home Airport LCY

Did you try US LGW-PHL-LGA or LGW-CLT-LGA?
USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.

What about OS through Vienna or LX through ZRH?

MAXJET!!!! Click through their ad on here. Or go on Orbitz and look at their "economy" fares. Same seat, different price.

I believe OP is looking for *Alliance routing to maintain status.

[edit: gosh...take 2 minutes to post and it's out of date!]
