Which Website To Buy Air Tickets Online.....

Wed Aug 09, 2006 6:47 am

Hi everybody

I'll be travelling to India (my home country) in October this year. I've never purchased air tickets online before. I would like to do it this time. Can you guys suggest me any good websites that you have purchased tickets from?

Thanks / Regareds

I always try expedia.com or orbitz.com. Travelocity has never given me the best deals, usually expedia does, orbitz is close after that.

I also think expedia is the easiest of the three to use and navigate through. Happy travels.

Also, doesn't Expedia offer some sort of reward if you find a cheaper fare on another site?

Go to any one of the big search sites (Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Sidestep, Kayak, etc), then whatever the lowest fare is, go to that airline's website and check there. You may not get a drastically lower price (usually $5-$15), but you can often get more flight options that way.

I usually just book on what is cheapest. It takes some searching, but I've found cheapest fares on travelocity, expedia, orbitz, qixo, studentuniverse, and priceline, as well as through the airline itself. I say take an hour or so, and look through every possibly option, you may just get lucky!  Smile

I've actually gotten lucky twice with travelocity - I found a cheaper fare on Travelocity then on AA.com, so I booked on AA.com, and then let AA know that I found a cheaper fare on travelocity, so I got the difference + $50 credit on AA...very nice!

www.kayak.com is excellent. It use it all the time, mostly because it automates the multi-site searches. Way better than manually searching expedia, and then travelocity, and then orbitz, and then cheaptickets etc. etc.

I just got two round trip tickets ROC-CPH for only two weeks from date of purchase on Travelocity for $625 each. That was an incredible deal.

Orbitz came in at over $1000 each and Expedia over $800.
