Flying To Thailand - Bangkok Or Phuket?

Mon Aug 14, 2006 11:08 pm

I am planning a trip to Thailand and wanted to get some feedback from people who have travelled there...I am flying from Seattle, with Phuket being my final destination. Does it make more sense to fly direct to Phuket? I would love to (as an example) fly a Bangkok Air 717 from BKK-HKT, but also want to keep it simple and "quick."

You shouldn't miss the advantage to visit the new Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport. Might be that you're one of the lucky first pax getting down there.
And perhaps you might enjoy as well the adventure to arrive at Don Muang Intl having a tranfer then to Suvarnabhumi for your domestic flight.  Smile
Still, even in the most arid desert is an airport somewhere ...

Going to HKT in March. My plan is to fly from HKG non-stop and when I leave I fly HKT to BKK then onto TPE and finally back to LAX. Going there I just what to get there so I will avoid the extra stop in BKK.

Option: Rush to and from HKT with as few stops as possible and affordable. Then, during your vacation, fly out of HKT for some daytrips selecting on carrier and/or a/c-type used.
