Stby From Europe To GRU And Vv In Sep, Help Needed

Wed Aug 16, 2006 6:59 pm

Actually I wanted to go to GRU in September this year. I planned to fly ZRH-JNB-GRU on the 13th but it looks like the JNB-GRU is full. I wanted to return on the 29th to MUC (via ZRH or FRA). It also looks like the RG and LH flights are getting very full.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I could travel to GRU, leaving ZRH on the 13th Sep in the evening and return GRU to MUC on the 29th? Does anyone know the no-show rate on the Brazil flights from Europe? How are the loads in Sep?

I do have ZED with most carriers going down there and I also wouldn't mind to go one way via the US or anything else.

My advise is to either go to CDG, MAD or LIS as you have many many options from there.

CDG: AF and JJ almost 5 daily flights to Brazil
MAD: IB, UX
LIS: 52 ( ?) flights per week to Brazil

From GRU you will ( provided you travel on a ZED ticket) get atleast on almost every carrier back to Europe.
If you want to travel on IB make sure you have a TKT with Dest MAD as IB does not acc a ZED if MAD is not mentioned.

LH and LX are almost full everytime. Make sure to take some extra TKT´s.

They will not tell you if there is space available in GRU but the staff is super friendly!!!!!!!

Have fun!

P.S.: In April is was running around GRU for 1 and a half day to finally get onboard a TP flight so take good shoes with you Big grin

Thank you very much for your advise and help!

I will see how the LH flights ex FRA and MUC are, if they are too full I might go via IAD. Return I will try to FRA, MUC or ZRH and as a 2nd option maybe via LIS or MAD. We don't have agreements with JJ, thats why I don't want to go via CDG.
