Cockpit Window Facial Expressions

Sat Sep 23, 2006 12:57 pm

Ever thought cockpit windows sometimes look like facial expressions? These are what come to mind...

DC-10, MD11 - Looks like a mean face
737, 727 - Looks almost "female"
747 - Distinguished
757 - Like a teenager

Any opinions?

BTW, glad to FINALLY be an A-Netter!

much life,
r

I never really thought of it that way, but I do agree with the DC10 and MD11 mean face looks

Hi Jalapeno..welcome to A.net  Smile

I've ALWAYS thought aircraft cockpit windows give them facial expressions.

MD11 - DC10 has the meanest look out there.
The Mad Dogs - well..they do have a dog-like face  Smile
The 737 also has a very mean look while the 757 has a very calm but stern look.
The airbus A320 series has a baby-face while the A330-340 have a much more stern look.
The 747 has a big bad ol' man look . The A380...has a dumb look  Smile (I'm an Airbus fan)

The only aircraftthat looks almost female is the A320 ..the 767 comes close  Smile

That's very cool! Big grin

Sometimes the colour and livery on an aircraft can add certain character to its look too. Just like this one. Being a 737 already made it looks "almost female", I think the colours made it looks like a drag queen posing in a parade.  rotfl

I have always thought of the MD-11 to be the evil stepdad.

I have always thought of the 747's expression as being both majestic and proud

I always thought that the DC10/MD11 windsheild configuration made it look like it was wearing a Lone Ranger mask.

I agree on the DC10/MD11... When she is head one then I think: I'd better run, there is someone angry with me...
744 is just gorgeous... The big old man look... nicely said  Wink But somehow it is correct... looking down to you...
777 is just a beast, but positiv... looks at you and says: get out of my way, I have my job to do...
737... well, I mostly see the cockpit windows from inside  Wink But from outside it looks a bit sad sometimes! Especially when being puchbacked with one of the trucks who lift the aircraft up...

Yes I agree, it does look that way but I never could put my finger on it on how it looked.
