Battle Of The South East Asians - Round 2

Fri Sep 29, 2006 9:47 pm

After a week of voting actions, it is now the time to announce the winners of Match 1-4 in Round 1 of The Battle of the South East Asians.

A total of 76 replies were received in the thread, 8 of which were commentary replies, 3 were disqualified votes due to its nature of not fulfilling the terms and conditions ironed out, leaving 65 qualified votes being casted.

And the result are as follows:  goodvibes

Match 1:
Royal Brunei Airlines - 36 votes Winner
Garuda Indonesia - 29 votes
Winning majority - 7 votes

Match 2:
Lao Airlines - 21 votes
Myanmar Airways International - 44 votes Winner
Winning majority - 23 votes

Match 3:
Philippine Airlines - 16 votes
Singapore Airlines - 49 votes Winner
Winning majority - 33 votes

Match 4:
Thai Airways - 34 votes Winner
Vietnam Airlines - 31 votes
Winning majority - 2 votes. That was so close!

Congratulation to all winners. Looks like Singapore Airlines is the biggest winner in Round 1 matches with a total votes of almost 50! Myanmar Airways International also received a big win with 44 votes. Royal Brunei Airlines and Thai Airways won by the slightest of a single digit margin.

And for the last spot to Round 2, the loser with the highest vote is:

Match 1: Garuda Indonesia - 29 votes
Match 2: Lao Airlines - 21 votes
Match 3: Philippine Airline - 16 votes
Match 4: Vietnam Airlines - 31 votes. Advance to Round 2

Congratulation to Vietnam Airlines. Garuda Indonesia almost made it. Thank you to all 76 voters who have made the Round 1 polling a huge success.  wave

Now, let's start Round 2.

The rules are still the same:

  • There will be 3 matches in Round 2 (Match 5-7).
  • A winner will be selected from each matches and will advance to Round 3.
  • The loser with the highest number of votes will also advance to Round 3. So there will be 4 contenders in Round 3.

And the contenders are:

Match 5: Royal Brunei Airlines vs Myanmar Airways International

Excellent pairs. It was hard to discount which ones I liked as an airline in comparison as to which livery is the best. Great work 9MMAR!
