Super Sonic Stunt Plane

Fri Oct 06, 2006 10:38 am

I feel that some super sonic stunt planes should being built. Look with the Concorde and F-14 gone, the crowd they bought to airshow is going to drop. If one of these aircraft manufacture was to build a loud gut's rattling, highly maneuverable, large mach 2 stunt jet, that build only for stunts I can not even think, about how many people would love to see it. So what do you think about a super sonic stunt plane? Big grin

Would be horrible to watch; it would cover probably 5nm laterally and 50,000' vertically to perform a simple loop at reasonable G-loading.
Good flying

Yes! And sometime you got to think out side the box. Big grin

There is thinking outside the box, and thinking outside the warehouse! The money needed to develop an aircraft like that would FAR outweigh the benefit of having a stunt aircraft like that.

Not to mention all those smashed windows and car alarms being activated all the time.

Reminds me of the 737-200 days at DAL. Well, the car alarm part, anyway....  Smile

Super Sonic Stunt Plane

Also known as the "blue angels" and "thunderbirds" in the USA, they are most fighter jets. Realistically, a stunt plane is just a tool to wow the crowd with pilot skill. Even combat aircraft perform most of their missions subsonically, the supersonic capability is just for dash or intercept, not super-manuvering like hard turning.

Airshow crowds don't know too much about airplanes, passing the speed of sound by itself is fun enough, we have fighter jets that approach but never breach. You ears will bleed if the plane is either too close to the ground or going any faster.
The meaning of life is curiosity; we were put on this planet to explore opportunities.
