Should I Add A Forum To My 777-website?

Sun Oct 22, 2006 11:01 pm

Hi Friends!

I have one little question for this huge aviation community!

I am currently planning a major update for next year of my website about the Boeing 777.
Should I add a forum to my site? Or do you have any other ideas how to improve my site (photogallery, monthly story, news ticker,...)?

In the next two weeks I'll update the destinationslist and my 777-world map with the 777's destinations this winter. Ok, the *A carriers are already updated to winter timetable. Because they have a nice pdf-timetable where u can simply find this information.

Thanks for your opinions and help!!

GreetZ,
Jan

Seems like a nice little site.
Small advice would be to lower the intensity of the colours down a little, they seem very strong.
Content is good, and there is defiantly a great range of content.
As for adding forums, i say do it.
Providing you have a database free, then phpbb is a great free option, and if people don't sign up, then its removable. Of course don't expect it to become an airliners.net over night lol.
(I have a running example of phpbb at http://www.powerplaygoal.com if you want to see what can be done with it)
Good luck with the site.

Kev.

Hi FlyKev,

thank you for your reply!
Color(s) are one thing that will be changed.
Tanks for the link, I should learn more about that during my winter holidays.
I don't expect to get an a.net-member-strength!  Wink

Great website man! Congratulations on making it! I posted a reply earlier but my computer closed right before posting!!

Anyway, I want to suggest adding Iran to the countries served since it has (EK and EY serving it) Also, Kuwait is a hub 777 operator (KU, UA, SV, EK, EY operate there)

Adding a forum is a great idea--I bet lots of people would join--first of them me!

Also, I would suggest adding a third color in the map for future 777 operators (Qatar would be an example), OR even a former 777 operator (Russia), as an example... If two categories exist such as future operator and destination served, you can stripe color it by using 2 colors!

Once again, its a great site--I wish you all the best!

Hey QatarA340,

thanks for your coongratulation and your nice ideas.
I have to look, if it is possible to import a "cartogram with stripes" from FreeHand to Flash. But this idea is great!
Yes, the worldmap will be fully renewed in December.
