Having read all the bad reports about FR
, including thousands of postings on this website, I was dreading my first flight with them. I was expecting rude and unhelpful service, cramped seating, dirty planes, a rugby scramble to get abroad etc.
The reality was totally different. Check-in and boarding were handled professionally by friendly agents, the cabin crew knew their jobs and seemed polite, the plane was brand new and clean, we pushed back on time and arrived early, and my luggage arrived safely. As a result I have flown FR
many times since and every flight has been uneventful. Not once have I encountered bad or rude service (and I have even contacted FR
customer service at Dublin who were helpful). There was once a delay (and we were kept fully informed whilst waiting) but generally FR
has been very punctual - even early on a few occasions.
is perfectly adequate for short flights without frills. What is more they enable me to VFR far more often than previously, usually at fares that are a fraction of what I used to pay. I admire them, and their MOL
, for what they can do so successfully and I get angry when people slag them off.
