If You Could Name An Airline...

Mon Nov 13, 2006 6:13 am

Hey Y'all-

I've always thought of this....If I started an airline, what would I name it?

Have you ever thought of this? What would you name your airline? What do you think a professional name for an airline would be? Do you think an airline out there has a bad name?

I really dislike Skybus! It makes the airline seem very unprofessional. I think of it as a dirty, cramped bus in the air, but thats just my 0.02

I don't like all the stupid cheesy names that feature the word jet or similar words in their names. Geographic names use to be the norm. I think they are good. But I would choose a name like Progressive. It is the name of an insurance company, so it is probably taken, but it is far better than a lot of these stupid meaningless names that are so forgetable.

I think the best names out there are United, American and Continental. You remember those.

BRAVO!
The exclamation point would be part of the name. It just wouldn't have the same impact otherwise.
Tag line: Bravo! You chose a great way to fly!
Callsign: Bravo - just think of the ATC communication when the tower tells the pilot to exit at 'B' taxiway;
Tower: "Bravo! 123. Please exit at Bravo."
Co-pilot: "Roger, exit at Bravo. Bravo 123."

Or

RAINBOW.
Each letter in the name would have a different color and would follow the color pattern seen in a rainbow.
Tag line: Rainbow, we get you there with flying colors.
Callsign: Prism
