Back in the 60's and 70's most int'l city pairs in North America were associated to two airlines at the most due to the severe regulations of those years.

and so on...
Not only that I miss Western, Pan Am, Eastern and Braniff among others, but every time that I go to the cities they served out of MEX
, I still feel that there is a missing part of these cities' personalities.
With the exception of AA
, all other american carriers came to Mexico to either fill a gap left by all ill fated airline of the US, were the result of a merger that did not keep the original name, or recently began operations under new Mexico-US regulations.
From each of these old airlines I specially miss WA
's 720s, PA's A300s, EA
's L1011s and Braniff's multicolored fleet including their fying pumpkins (Orange colored 747s).
From the canadians I also miss CPAir with their great DC-8-63s which did the YVR
