I'm planning a trip to Europe next year, and I would like to try something new, either new airline or new airplane.
I'm an AC frequent flyer and usually fly them exclusively to Europe, or their Star partner LH, with the odd KLM and BA trip thrown into the mix for good measure.
Now the trip I'm planning would involve me getting from Yellowknife to LHR and then on CDG (by Eurostar) just in time for the Paris Airshow.
So far my options are:
1. YZF-LHR in Exec Class via YYC or YVR with transatlantic flights operated by A330's;
#disadvantages-nothing new about this option (airline or airplane)
2. YZF-YEG on First Air (pretty blah), YEG-YYZ on Aeroplan points and then YYZ-LHR on 77W on the way up and 77L on the way back
#advantages - new airplanes, new style Exec class, better fare than option 1 actually best fare of the three options, accumulate more points on AC
#disadvantage - overnight in Edmonton most likely both ways (I can live with it)
3. YZF-YYC on AC or Canadian North, YYC-LHR on BA 777 in CW
#advantages - new airline, I get to try the famous BA Club World (even if it's not the new CW, it still looks great), maybe they'll make me switch from AC to BA for transatlantic flights
#disadvantages - highest fare because of the YZF-YYC leg
So far as I was wrtiting this I realized that it'll be more btw. option 2 and 3.
What would you guys recommend based on your own experience and knowledge of these airlines?
Thank you in advance for your input and advice.
