What To Do In CVG (airport)

Sat Dec 16, 2006 2:49 pm

Hey all, I will be flying DL in to CVG on 12/22 and have almost a 3 hour lay over. I have never flown into CVG, so I am curious to know is there any good locations to get pics at the airport, where there is a good place for breakfeast, or just stuff to do to kill some time there. Thanks.
I wish UA flew mainline to MYR, that way you wouldn't be stuck in a smelly Saturn for 12 hours.

Welcom to Cincinmati, Ohio in Northern Kentucky? No room to expand 'sunken Lunken' airport so they moved across the river about 50 years ago. Lunken Airport has a great observation area and restaurant. You'll never get there and back to make your connection.

There is an observation parking area just East of the CVG airport. I am not sure how you would get there. Years ago CVG had an observation deck above the main terminal but I have not noticed it in years. I don't think it is open to the public anymore or if it even still exists but you could ask. 'C' terminal has some local flavor restaurants. Delta has a Crown Room in 'B' terminal.

Wish I could be of more help. Have a safe trip.

I spent about 90 minutes between DL flights at CVG earlier this year, and it's a marvelous place to connect, in my opinion.

The food court in Terminal B (where Delta has its gates) has huge windows where you can sit and watch the planes while you eat.

This is a list of CVG's restaurants--I'm sure you can find something nice for breakfast at one of them:

Terminal B(Delta) is fine. If you fly United or American(what you apparently don't) you are stuck in an awful brownish looking terminal where you have to sit down to watch the planes, because of the low windows....CVG has been voted one of US best airports, but I assume they meant best terminals...Have a nice stay

Well folks, just got back from ORD for Christmas break and had some time to kill going both ways through CVG. In my opinion, it is a great airport, very clean and very open. I had dinner with some beer at Max and Ermas tonight while I waited for my trip back to D.C. Thanks to all who replied to this topic.

Been to CVG many times. Worked for OH for a a month, and trained in CVG so I spent many days there. I liked it, I had about 4 hours each time to kill. I'd love to take the bus from C to A/B, you can spot while on the bus. B has some good resutrants, for breakfast there is a little bakery type place. The cookies are great. For lunch/dinner I fell in love with the chinese place, I am not sure what its called, I think its its by gate B12? As for spotting there are windows around the terminal to spot. Have fun and I will try to be availble if you have any more questions.
