What Aircraft Would You Most Like To Fly On?

Thu Dec 21, 2006 12:23 am

OK, given the chance to fly on any passenger aircraft currently certified in the US (it doesn't neccessarily have to be US based) which aircraft would you most like to fly on?

For me it would be an A310.

This is just a research thing for a possible future project I have in mind.

For me, it would be a difficult choice between the HS Trident, Boeing 707 or 720, or the VC10.

I'll keep this on aircraft in regular service today, because there are just too many types of airliners that aren't flying anymore that I wish I would have had at least one trip with, such as the L1049, Boeing 314 and Concorde. But for today's airliners, I still have not been on a B777 and am looking very forward to my first experience.

I flew this year in a Saha Air 707 making one of my desires and dreams accomplished; in a VC10 I flew 8 or 10 years ago in a demonstration made in the Brize Norton RAF Air Base;

Soviet models are now my dream: to fly in a Tupolev Tu-104; in the Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya, Ilyushin Il-14 or in a Tupolev Tu-124.

Concorde
727
707

The 747 I would have really like it to have been a Pan Am A/C. The Concorde flight could have been any airline. The 727 my own VIP jet that was re-engine with PW JT8 219 and had winglet put on it. The 707 well I see if I can get to ride on a E-6B Mercury.

A CRJ-900 looks interesting,

I wouldn´t mind riding shotgun (or take a flight-lesson) in a Yak-54. For a long-distance flight a Gulfstream V would be nice, but none of my friends has the wealth to own one.

There are several commercial airliners I would like to fly on but none of them are certiifed in the US. I would like to try the IL-86 and the TU 154

If we included a/c not in service then the TU 144

Military the SR 71 or the XB 70 would be fun.

1. defilitely the 707, it's the only boeing type i haven't flown on
2. the 747SP
3. the IL62
4. the TU114-the biggest baddest propliner ever built, only the russians could take a bomber and turn it into a commercial airliner.
5. the A342, A345, and A346, then i've have flown on every one of Airbus' widebodies
6. the A318 and A321, then i've have flown on all of airbus' narrowbodies
7. the 737-600, it's the only model of the 737 i haven't been on
Yes, I'd like to see airbus go under so Boeing can have their customers!

Have to say the old DC8. I used to love the whine of the engines when they started up at the gate, and the large square windows. Flew in some 707's and 720B's, but to me nothing ever had the same feel as the DC8. Also, I flew in a lot of Super Caravelles of Finnair, oddly enough never been on a regular Caravelle. Those are also a wonderful aircraft: smooth, reliable even in it's time.
Cheers,
