EWR-PBI and PBI-EWR. Continentall Airlines, and I had a 757-300 on the way there, and a 737-700 on the way back. First time I flew alone, too.

Great flights, gotta love the 753!

Here in Spain, the distances are not long.

I think the longest but not my longest domestic flight is a SDR-LPA seasonal flight operated by YW with CR2 (about 3 hours and 45 minutes).

My longest domestic flight, if we consider it, is a CDG-PPT flight (23 hours).

Longest non stop internal flight would be MAD-LPA, just over two hours I seem to remember and 1097 miles on an A340-313 on the way there and A340-313X on the way back, both with Iberia.

With a stop would be again just over two hours and an hour and a half flying time; MAN-CWL-NQY, 241 miles flying into a strong headwind in an Air Southwest Dash 8-311.

only NONSTOP flights and no direct flights listed:
LAX-HNL 2553m
SFO-IAD 2426m
SFO-OGG 2337m
IAD-LAX 2294m
LAX-ORD 1746m
DME-OVB 1736m

not couting flights to/from French overseas department such as ORY-PTP or SXM-CDG

I assume the longest possible NONSTOP flight might be MOW-PKC

SF0-BOS 2703 miles is the longest domestic flight that I have taken. In the lower 48 I would guess that SEA-MIA would be the longest at 2722 miles.

ANC-LAX non-stop with Alaska on two different occasions; one on a MD-83, the other on a 737-790. Distance is 2,346 miles, scheduled gate-to-gate time just over 5 hours.

EWR-ANC . . . 7 hours plus.

IAH-ANC . . . 6 hours plus.

PHX-ANC . . . 5 hours plus.

MSP-ANC . . . . 6 hours give or take

ORD-ANC . . . 5 hours plus.

Living in Alaska, this was an easy thread . . .

Of course, domestic to US citizens includes Alaska and Hawaii . . . they are, afterall domestic flight.

So I guess the ORD-HNL flight in 1999 - over 8 hours qualifies as well.

Or the HNL-IAH flights - too many times to count - on CO (CO2) - really liked Air Mike - counts as well.

Longest would be EWR-SEA with a nasty jetstream, 6.2 hours flight time. Also, flew MIA-SEA on AS. 6.5 hours. Only time EVER I have slept through the majority of the flight time.

Mine is ATL-PDX PDX-ATL on DL. At the time, DL had their Japan gateway @ PDX, so the flight was a leg of their service to NRT. Flown with the MD-11, so 5 or so hours up in BusinessElite wasn't that bad. This was my favorite route to do a non-rev trip on since it was a domestic flight with international service (Flew it three times in about two months). The flight would leave ATL around 9 in the morning and I wouldn't get back to ATL until around 8 or so that night. That was a great way to spend the day.

Damn, you are lucky. I would have loved to have been on that flight. What year was that? Were there other domestic routes the DL MD-11s would serve as part of the Asian or European legs?

Mine is SEA to BHM in an NW A320, Sep 1997. Should have been SEA to MEM, though we diverted due to thunderstorms.

GCM lists as 2079 mi, though we circled MEM about four times before biting the bullet, so to speak.

Oddly, my first ever flight on any airbus.

Cheers

It's hard to believe that just 10 years ago L-1011's were still very common on routes such as the one you listed. With all the planes that have been phased out since then, things have become a lot more monotonous in terms of fleets. Was that route flown by a -500? That's a pretty long flight... How were the L-1011's holding up in their final years? I unfortunately never had the opportunity to fly on one.
