LH Livery,,,Is It Just Me Or Is It Getting 2 Old?

Sun Jan 14, 2007 12:23 pm

So tired of seeing such a great A/L with a milk toast livery. Any plans to throw some life and energy into this well worn livery.

LH and AA are two liveries that never need to change.

I was always a BIG fan of the old DL livery. I think airlines are adding too much white to the liveries, UA, US/HP, who have recently changed their scehemes, come to mind.

Just because you've seen it longer than most of us,  old  , is no reason to spoil it for the rest of us!

The thing is that the colours LH show something. The blue tail with the crane is obviously part of their brand, while the white fuse and grey belly livery denotes clarity, simplicity and positive attributes such as safety and reliability.

I personally like the LH livery. It is simple, sharp and elegant. One of the smartest liveries around IMO

It's like many of the old liveries, one gets a sense of warmth and familiarity. Think how one feels when some of the carriers do paint an aircraft in the old livery, like SAS, AA for example. Don't see why many of the carriers could do any wrong by bringing back old liveries and colour schemes. It saddens me when I think that, for example, Canadian Pacific is no longer. We will never see the old Canada Goose again, even in latter years as that airline became CPAir, and when to a colourful logo, it was never the same. No, I have to give LH full credit for staying more traditional. And Germans are some of the most hospitable people in the world.

While I don't consider LH's livery brilliant - rather boring - I do agree that there's no real need to change it; just as the link that LTU932 gave in Reply 5, the livery simply is Lufthansa - nothing spectacular, but clean, reliable and safe.

Given the choice between the current one and the previous one with one of those hideous cheatlines, I'd take the current one every time.

I copy all the statements above, saying that is does NOT need to change.

I think their livery is pretty dull, I know it's supposed to convey professionalism and reliability but they could give it a bit of an update.

True, but a bit of a cop-out, as we could all say the same for BA/AA/QF/TG etc etc, you get my drift!

I do think it's "fine" but it is outdated now

Their livery will stay for long, along with their unwillingness to put PTVs on Y class.  duck

Well... in that case, we'll be seeing a new livery by either 2008 or 2009.  Wink
