Lufthansa In Business Class?

Thu Feb 01, 2007 8:33 am

I am looking to fly to Caracas in Venezuela from Heathrow on Lufthansa in C- Class and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the quality of their Business Class product, on both long and short haul. The other alternative with Star Alliance is to fly with TAP, but I imagine LH is somewhat superior!

Any feedback would be great!

I never flown on LH so far on any of their classes. But from reports from many other Airline Freaks I would avoid LH. Go to

I flew MAN-MUC-DXB and return. The short haul was standard european J class-same seats as Y but middle seat left free (or adjacent seat free if 2-2 config) and a better meal. The long haul segment was on an A340-300 with new busines class. The seat was very comfortable and more adjustable than BA but was angled lie flat, not a true flat bed. IFE was AVOD and entertaining (I won who wants to be a millionaire!) and service/food as you would expect. So if the price is right then go for it. I've never been on TAP but think you're probably right!

Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - bring them down to your level !

Look, honestly, Lufthansa is a good choice in c class. Ive flown with them twice in c, and personally i think its not bad at all. The service is professional, and the staff is more than competent. Some people may dislike the service, and really, from my own experience, i can only say the service was professional, personal, i however kept on a short leash. The new business seats are excellent providing a 2 meter almost flat bed, on which i managed to sleep for nearly 6 hours on my last flight. Other feats. like massage, and all the standard new gen. C class features can be found in these aswell. Entertainment is AVOD in new C, however not in onld. The old style business seats provide adequate comfort and allowed me to doze off for a couple of hours. Food is good, while nothing to write home about, and i would recommend (as with most C class flights) to stay with a simple meal, like pasta or similar, which is only hard to scew up. Furthermore, if travelling in the old style seats ( i would check beforehand) i would recommend an aisle seat, only for the purpose of getting in and out of your seat more easily. If you have any further questions please ask Paul, and ill try to remember. ( I also kept the menu from my last flight, which i can send you if you are interested)

Anyway, hope i was of at least a little help,

Is it the kerosene, or is it just me...
