I got accepted to both, but have heard some bad things about ERAU, but would like to hear your opinions.

Thanks in advance
Chris

At DWC you will fly in all sorts of weather, From snow/ice to thunderstorms to strong wind and turbulence. If you want to fly commercially it would be beneficial to have been exposed to it. I controlled at ASH and, believe me, you will see plenty of foul weather up there.
I will have a Manhattan.

On the contrare, ERAU has a fantastic reputation. i really want to apply and get in when the time comes. they have a fantastic program. Cessna057, if you dont mind my asking, just so i can get an idea, are you in national honor society and your SATs?

Not in NHS, I got to a pretty good prep school in dirty jersey so its pretty hard to get more than one honors class a person. SAT's sucked. 1560 first round and a 1620 the second.

I visited both campus(s?). I liked the DWC shpiel more. I like the weather better (cold and variable). I like the location better, and I like the programs better. And the 13:1 teacher : student ration is AWSOME.

I asked because I have heard that ERAU's rep is going downhill and I must agree. The student who we had a tour with had a very cocky attitude and it seemed like the rest of the students did as well. The pilot who flew us back (CO) said not to go there because airlines are discounting it more and more because of that cocky attitude.

DWC, on the other hand, was a very humble school. Their program was very impressive, and i like the kids alot better. The person who took us around, his name was Matt, knew what he was talking about and delivered his "presentation" very clearly.

Just wanted ya'lls two cents on it, I'll probably go with DWC but not quite sure yet.

When my wife was a dispatcher, she once had a ERAU grad tell her he did not like flying into New York becuase the New York TRACON controllers did not treat him with the respect he deserved.

Yea, thats the type of thing i was talking about...I would never ever do anything like that and could'nt see anyone from what i saw from DWC doing that.

If you wan't all types of conditions (including international flights), wind, rain, snow, ice, turb. A LOT of traffic, did you ever look into the University of North Dakota? But of the two, ERAU, even though its wayy overpriced.

You could also check out Dowling College on Long Island, they have a pretty good program. You will definately get the New York flying experience there.
