Any Day Trip Ideas

Mon Feb 12, 2007 6:59 am

I'm looking at doing a day trip somewhere from either EDI or GLA to somewhere in Ireland, northern europe for under £50 return and wondered if anyone had any ideas or advice or tips etc. Currently looking on easyjet and found a belfast return for 41rtn. The only thing is the flight can't be very early leaving, ideal would be around 8-10ish.

Any ideas would be great

Sorry, forgot to add that a flight on a wednesday or thursday would be the best

Don't know if this interests you but there is a 920ish departure from GLA to Gothenburg, have a bit of lunch there, walk a bit, then jump on the train to Stockholm for a beer and a view of the old town, then if you can make it to the airport by 2100 you'll be bang on time for the 2200 departure back to PIK.

Hectic, but interesting, for sure.

Flybe's booking website shows EDI-BHD at 09.50 returning BHD-EDI 20.25 (flights are DH8-400) for 0p fare and taxes of £49.98 ( as at 17.00hours today) on Wed 14th March. If you play around with the booking page you can find similar deals on other days. BHD is only 15mins from Belfast city centre.

Also checkout the Aer Lingus website bookings page. Youcan easily get GLA or EDI to DUB for about £42 for a day return.
