KLM Help

Sun Feb 18, 2007 8:06 am

All,

Just booked myself on KL flight 602 LAX-AMS on 15 June and will be flying them for the first time. What can I expect as far as service, food, IFE, etc.? I know I'll only have the overhead screens, but are they any good. Also, what type of overhead screens do they have? The goofy Aisle CRT TVs or the nice drop down LCDs like CO has on many of their 737s & 757s? Also, how are the pairs of seats next to the weird galley on KL? I'm hoping to get seat E next to the galley, just because I like having something to lean up against to sleep, but don't want to schlep over people (I tend to have to get up alot in flight).

Also, I'm returning home on KL 1608 (apparently opperated by AZ) FCO-AMS on Jul 1, then laying over for 10 HOURS in AMS, departing on KL 603 AMS-LAX on Jul 02. Will I have anything to do in AMS during those hours? I'll be there from 11:30 to 8:55am. Also, will I be able to check in for the next flight when I arrive that late, or will I have to wait until the morning. I'm excited about KL 603, as I'll have the PTV (I'm totally ADHD, so entertainment is good). Same question about food/service applies to these flights.

Last question:

I'm trying to reserve my seats ahead of time, and I was wondering if you could tell me if KL lets you select an Exit Row ahead of time. I'd like to do that, as I'm also sort of, um... big = 6'0" and 250 lbs. Please let me know, and thanks ahead of time!!

Definitely a KL operated flight.

They close down the terminal but allow you to stay over in the chairs designed for sleeping. I do recommend a hotel, like the Mercure Terminal hotel or the airport Sheraton or Hilton.

11E would be the seat for you but it's difficult to get if you're not Flying Blue Elite (Plus).

Have a look at the Trip Reports section for these overhead things, you'll probably find someone complaining about them  Cool

Sorry to say, but there is a gap between the seats and the wall, so you won't be able to lean against it.
I was in the last row of that cabin at the window seat last summer from KUL and to be honest, it was like hell.
The cabin felt really small and almost not being able to recline my seat was very disturbing.
