B6 Terminal At EWR?

Tue Apr 03, 2007 1:21 pm

Im flying out of ewr for the first time in YEARS ! Im also flying Jetblue for the first time. I was wondering if anyone knew how the B6 terminal was at newark? By that I mean is it cramped? Are there stores and eateries in the vacinity? etc... Also how was the checkin process at newark? I've been flying out of LGA since and its rather quick (at least at the DL terminal)

I figure Jetblue is similar to Song? IFE along with leather seats and I hear a little more legroom. I dont even bother with the worrying about the snacks anymore I just bring my own food !

B6 operates out of Terminal "A" at EWR, which is the domestic terminal.

Check-in and security normally aren't too bad; the security lines at EWR move fairly quickly, usually.

As far as stores and eateries, once you're through security, you'll be hard pressed to find much of anything other than a muffin or a magazine, so I would recommend trying to find something before going through the checkpoint; IIRC there is more before going through security in Terminal A.

And I think you should enjoy B6.. the snacks, although not much, are better than, say, Spirit, and the seats are adequate, especially for a flight to Florida. The one time I flew, the IFE wasn't working, both ways, so can't really comment on that.

If you're hungry when you get there, I'd eat or grab a sandwich for the plane before going through security - food is limited after security, although I believe there's either a TGI Fridays or Dick Clark's (yes, an American Bandstand-themed restaurant, lameness) if you have time for a table-service meal. There's also a coffee shop (either Starbuck's or Seattle's Best) after security.

Check-in and security should both be easy - security at EWR is usually pretty fast at Terminal A.

IFE is, with the possible exception of DL's planes with the "Song" equipment, the best in the US domestic coach world - 36 channels of LiveTV (including CBS, NBC, and FOX networks - no ABC yet) and XM Radio, both for free, and 3 PPV movies for five bucks each. You can see the TV schedule (and print one for your flight), XM channel line up, and PPV movies at JetBlue's "Why You'll Like Us" section.

(disclosure - I own a whopping 175 shares of B6, so I'm a little biased. But not that biased - most of my flying in the last year has been on CO. Elite Silver rules.)

Thanks guys ! I especially appreciate the info on the check-in process because it allows me to gauge what time I can leave. I remember right after 9/11 they were saying how you needed to be at the airport 2hrs in advance well it ended up only taking me 5 minutes to check in !!! I was so early I was mad lol.

I guess i'll be bringing my own food to the airport once again lol. I think I can check the website to see exactly what they have..but I prefer to eat after i've checked in so if most of the eateries are pre-checkin thats gonna stink

..and it is a flight to MCO so I really hope the IFE is working. Heck thats the main reason why we booked with Jetblue !
