Can I book something like this on the internet or is it better to show up at their office?
Booking on the 'net, you will have to use "Multiple stops" (or similar)-option, entering flights as follows (with appropriate dates):
Often, discounted airfares are not advertised more than 12 months in advance (or are you taling about "Summer down under" = European winter ?)..
Try to find fares for 2007 and then compare to offers for 2008. Then you will have an indication, how low prices may get.
Flying from Germany, you can get a good overview on www.skyways.de
- they will show prices and conditions (there you will find information about stopovers), even if the flight has no vacancies left. But as I said, it is good for prices.
If you cannot book on the Internet, go to a Travel Agent specialized in air Travel to Asia.
has been a good source for me, too.
Unless considerably cheaper, try to avoid connecting at LHR
Some Arabian carriers often have good fares (especially from FRA
), but check stopover-options in Asia (unless you want to stop-over in Dubai).
Do you want to arrive and depart in SYD
, or so you want to fork between SYD
and say BNE
, ... ? To be considered ...
Check also Taiwanese carriers EVA and China Airlines - they offer good stops in TPE
(gives you the chance for a sidetrip to nearby HKG
: When going in European summer, HKG
will be in the beginning of the typhoon season; Singapore has stable weather all year 'round.
Japan: Is a bit off-way from the usual flight route (= may result in higher fares). Plus hotel costs are likely to be higher in Japan than in Singapore and Hong Kong. To be checked and considered ?
