Working In An Airline Lounge?

Thu Jun 07, 2007 3:22 am

Hi all (first post - happy to be here)
For a long time now I've wanted to work in the airline industry (I was offered a position with United as a flight attendant but couldn't afford to take it). I currently work in hospitality and have worked for several 5 star hotel companies and I've been wondering about working in the first class lounges at airports. Can anyone tell me if the employees are contracted or if they work directly for the airline? What sort of money can you make? I've searched extensively and can't find any job listings or info on any of the airline websites.

If anyone has any general or specific insight I'd greatly appreciate it. Info for SFO would be especially useful.

Welcome to A.net!

I know that the CO President's Club has both contract such as the bartenders, and I am almost certain the CSR folks are CO employees.   Sorry I can't offer more info but others much more in the know will, I am sure.

At American, CSRs are part of the "Premium Services" department. People at Premium Services either spend their day shuttling "important" PAX (could be AAdvantage Platinums if it's a slow day) around or at the lounge.
