Yes, I think they will, they've made a pretty decent name for themselves on the west coast

Yes, Alaska has a very loyal following in the Pacific Northwest and trying to beat the cabin service of NW and UA's once a week 757 should be a non-factor and since DL and TZ doesn't fly the route why are they in the discussion?

I think they will do okay seasonally. Right now the Hawaii market is fairly saturated though really and it is low yeild because most of the time people use their miles for that trip.

i think one thing that is holding back Alaska is their aircraft, if im not mistaken they said they were going to serve Hawaii with the 738's?, if so during the winter months the jetstream might affect Alaska's loads, not that theyre the only ones using the 738's as ATA flies them from the Mainland to Hawaii as well. I think Alaska is one of the "better" airlines.

Its interesting because they used to market all flights to Hawaii "Fly to Hawaii with Alaska onboard our partner Northwest Airlines"

Am I the only one who knows there is a spellcheck feature when writing posts .....?

I think someone forgot to mention that Hawaiian is also in the market. It will be interesting to see if we can maintain the loyal customer base we have built over the years. Will passengers want to fly 738 when Hawaiian has at times 3 widebody flights a day ? While AS does have a good service, I think our service plus the benefit of flying a widebody will keep us as the 1# carrier SEA-HNL and OGG. AS will for sure lower the yields in the market.

AS will survive in Hawaii.

They won't take any business from the HA Charters, but I see NW getting their asses handed to them with their seasonal 757 service soley based on NW vice AS cabin service. Any fool knows AS cabin service is far superior to NW. Price may be the only reason anyone chooses NW over AS.

I'll stick with the HA Charters via Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays for my Hawaii trips. . . . just can't beat HAs crews on that trip.
