Funny & Embarrassing Moments On A Plane

Fri Jul 13, 2007 3:30 pm

I know this has been discussed before - search turned up one result in civil and one in polls - but I know there have to be stories that have happened since the last thread on embarrassing moments on a plane.

You guys and gals must have some great stories to share about embarassing or funny moments on a plane. I'll go first:

So I was just laughing at myself for something I did when was nine.

I was on a AS flight from SEA - LAX and I was sitting next to a mother and her baby. I asked if I could hold the baby and play with him and I did, which the baby liked until I bounced him around and bonked his head into the O2 mask holder thingy (  banghead  ). OMG  embarrassed  was I embarassed. The baby was fine since the thing was mask door was loose and had room to move up, but the mom was a bit upset...thank god my mom didn't see this (or dad)!

People also hate it when in Y when I lower the tray table, they get so irratated, I must irratate them since I'm a kid. Big grin

Not that emabarassing, but funny. On a flight from EWR-DEN I was playing FS on the plane, complete with a joystick. I convinced the people arround me, when they asked me, that I was controling the plane remotely, in a sarcastic mannor. The later asked the flight attendant- "Is he really controling the plane?" and she just kinda looked at them and laughed.

I flew ANC-YVR earlier this week on an Embraer E-190, and it was funny listening to the college guy and his buddy across from me talking.

"How high are we gonna climb?"
"I don't know, probably about 50,000 feet...that's how high we were the last time I was on this plane."

"How much ya think this plane costs brand new?"
"Probably about 3 or 4 million dollars. American."

As the speedbrakes popped up a little bit on approach...

"What are those things comin' up on the wing?"
"They make us speed up a bit so the plane behind has enough room to land."

I debated which was more entertaining; listening to these two goons or plugging into AC's snazzy AVOD.

They probably continued talking amongst themselves and said more silly things, but of these choices...

I chose the latter.

On a Northwest flight from MCO-MSP on a 753, my brother was sitting in the window seat, I was sitting in the middle seat and my mom was on the aisle. There was a woman sleeping in the aisle seat in front of my mom who had long hair, and part of her hair was on top of the seat back. So here I am trying to get up without disturbing her, and I put my hand on the top of her seat to get out, and I pull her hair as I get up out of my seat! She turns around and goes "Geez, you almost pulled my hair out of my head!!!!". I have never been so embarrassed. Oh well, we live and learn. God Bless.

When I was young my brother thought that when turbulence occurs that means that we are in danger of crashing. So one time it was happening on a UA flight and my brother told me this, I started to scream for the next five minutes 'we are all going to die'

Embarrassing as hell when we didnt.

I'd be embarrassed about the screaming, not about that particular prediction being incorrect. Big grin

Actually... give it some time; eventually your prediction will come true.

Farts are always embarrassing especially when they are heard.  Smile

One funny for me and on the same side embarrassing for my sister was when we were travelling to HEL and I was still a little " intoxicated" in 1997. I fell asleep immediately after sitting down and only a few minutes later while we were taxing to the runway I woke up and screamed: PARTY!!! and jumped up and started shaking in the aisle.

A F/A came running towards me and ! politely! asked me to sit down again. I did and fell asleep until we reached HELBig grin

My sister has not travelled with me ever since than despite I am really behaving now!  Smile
