My worst flight was on the only NW
flight I've ever been on. It was from NRT
. The boarding process was horrible. An entire 747 full of passengers standing around waiting to board. When they were ready to board the plane, the gate agent just walked around holding up a sign that said "now boarding rows 21-37." Didn't seem very organized.
I was in a cramped center seat in the center section of the aircraft (I think it was 28F). I was sitting between two people, both of them insisted on hogging both of my armrests. And the guy on my right really burned me up! If you are in an aisle seat or a window seat, show some courtesy and at least let the person stuck in the middle have the armrests! I was stuck sitting there with my arms folded in my lap holding a pillow (what was I going to do with a pillow, seriously) and a blanket in my lap. I was just praying to God that the little girl in front of me didn't recline her seat. She didn't though.
I had to stow my bag 6 rows behind where I was sitting (which made it extremely difficult to deplane after arrival).
There was a movie playing on the old projection screen. It was impossible to watch because peoples heads were in the way of the screen, and also due to the glare of the cabin lights that were on so that dinner could be served. The dinner was not good at all. I found none of it to be eatable (it was real gross).
And then we all got to stand around the little baggage carousel in MNL
to get our luggage. Much like the boarding process in NRT
, it was just a big annoying cluster f**k.
I had to fly NW
back to NRT
the next week. That flight went slightly better. My connection was on DL
back to ATL
. As soon as I stepped on that plane, I felt like I was home already. I was in coach in a bulkhead aisle seat (next to a baby, which made me nervous at first, but it was ok because it was a good baby) where I could stretch my legs, get up any time I wanted. I had my audio controls and little personal TV
. I had a choice of food, and it was good food!!
There was a HUGE difference.
