How Many Here Have Won Seats On The A380 Inaugural

Mon Sep 03, 2007 4:46 am

I am curious to know how many A.netters have won seats in the Singapore A380 Inaugural eBay auction and will make history by being on the A380's very first commercial flight.

As far as I am concerned I have tried for single Economy seats but have failed each time as the prices have always gone up beyond what I am ready to pay for a one-way ticket. My bids were always within the hundreds and the results always wthin the thousands.

I will try again but looking at how high the prices are going, I very much doubt that I will succeed.
There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

According to a thread in two civil aviation forum, two premium seats have been sold for USD 100,380 (approx GBP 49,755). It would be nice to have that sort of money to throw around and be on board the inaugural flight, but I think the plane will be full of people who just want to exercise their egos, rather than genuine aerosexuals.

There'll be plenty of other opportunities for flights on the A380.

Hahaha true. I would love to fly on that plane period, but my wallet doesn't agree with me. :/

There will probably be the odd armchair CEO and, again, he'll probably be about 13, who will 'claim' to have ticket for the flight. The number who actually do though I expect to be very small, possibly none in fact, as I can see the majority being purchased for journalists to report upon this historic event.
