What Do You Think About The Boeing 787?

Wed Sep 12, 2007 6:58 am

In 2002 when Boeing drop the Sonicrusier for the 7E7, I did not think I would like it, but when it came out with that new design, thought I would love it. Now that 787 is built, I sometime wonder is it going to be something exciting or another 767, A330 and 777 type of jet. Do not get me wrong I can not wait for it to gose into service, and I would prefer it over a 767 or A330, but will it exciting?

I think it will be, infact i look forward to it more than i do the A380. its going to have all sorts of new technology and those swept back wings will look amazing. think of it like a series 2 777 with a face lift. they will never make them like they used to though....

Sometime in easter 10 .... yet to book :)

I don't know, if it will be that good, as they say, but I really like the design of that bird.. The shape of the wings looks amazing.

Personally what Interests Me about the B787 is the extensive use of Composites,Bleedless Engines,5000psi Hydraulics & Twice the number of Generators.
Out here AI & 9W will be getting their B787s.
I may not win often, but I damn well never lose!!! ;)

around 10 months until NW's first 787!!!!!  bouncy

Though I like the looks of the 787, inside and out. I can't wait to hear those engines purr and those wings flex like crazy.
The air in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious because it's the same the angels breathe.

I'm under the impression that the wing flex you're talking about is artistic over-exaggeration. Surely the wings on the plane (and any airliner out there today) can flex that much, but they don't unless there's extreme stress. Why would the 787 be any different?

Good looking bird, can't wait to see the first flight.
Picked a hell of a week to quit sniffing glue.

A lot of hype at the beginning, everyone excited to see and fly in it. After a few years, it too will become routine as the airlines cram more and more seats into it, then it will be about a third of the space up front for the frequent flyers and the few paying F/J passengers, and a cattle car in the back. Pardon me for sounding cynical, but that is in fact the reality of the situation. I love to look out the window, and there will be lovely big windows to look out of. However, that little avenue of pleasure will be closed in favour of those who wish to remaing riveted to their electronic devices.
