i saw it at D20 at LAS yesterday (4OCT07) and was actually suprised to see it. i think it looks better in person, but it's still gonna take a while to get used to. i still like the silver/black "pixel" scheme better. my mom asked if the person in charge of all that marketing and stuff like that, was gay... we both laughed a good one...

I really don't think its as nice as the old one... the old one was very "different".

Why exactly did they change it ?

Spirit changed the livery to coincide with their new marketing effort as an "Ultra Low-Cost Carrier" (or ULCC) ... the pixel livery appears to "classy" for a ULCC, hence the new colorful design (which I'm not exactly a fan of, either).

For pictures, check out the main thread on Civ Av. Search for Spirit. (I'm too lazy to link anything right now. Big grin )
I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

Bring back the pixels! I liked the blue on the MD-80's and the gray on the Airbii (except that one A321, which is in the blue pixel c/s) The n/cs looks like crap. It doesn't say "Spirit" at all, unless you mean "Spirit of the Gay People" instead of "Spirit Airlines".

I saw it last Wednesday when I arrived in Orlando as we were pulling into our gate and I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit....It looks like a 4 year old who forgot to take his riddelin designed it

I prefer the even older, pixelated blue scheme as found on many of their former MD-82s
