Flight Delays/Your Expriences

Mon Oct 15, 2007 4:00 pm

Hi everyone,

I am a college senior and journalism student. I am working on an article for possible online publication about flight delays and if experiences match data. This is your chance to be published and have a voice.

So, for anyone who flies often, what is your experience flying? Are delays that bad? Does data match experience? Do you fly less because of delays? How do you feel? Anything else.

Any feedback is very much appreciated. Feel free to private message me and answer or reply on here, I would need your full name and age. I would love to speak to Americans and a few international.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help. Again, it is much appreciated. As a journalist, I can't pay for quotes but know you are making an impact.

maybe you should do something cutting edge and instead of the typical media "the passenger is the victim" b/s, do something showing the airlines side, how things like weather, ATC, federal and intl guidelines are out of their control, and make the passengers look childish and immature for blaming the airlines for stuff like that, and how the flight crews are victims for having to put up with crap from the pax  Smile

granted, not all delays are ATC or weather related, or due to an intl or federal restriction- and in those cases the pax have more than a right to voice their complaints... but stuff like 150 pax on a flight from Central America-Newark having to divert to BWI due to weather where federal (and international) law prohibits them from exiting the plane going completely crazy and acting like children and animals, and then the media taking their side and saying how XYZ Airlines is wrong, yeah that crap is ridiculous.

ps- wasn't at all assuming that's the type of story you had in mind; i'm sure your study is entirely empirical and non-biased. just struck a nerve in me and had to get my two cents out  Smile good luck friend, let me know if I can help.
