I've just booked a trip to Budapest and Prague for Thanksgiving next month... I'll be flying ZRH-BUD on Malev, and then BUD-PRG-BUD on CSA. I had a few questions for anyone familiar with those airports...
- Which side of the plane should I sit on for good views of each city during landing? I know that good views are largely dependent on wind direction, but just in case we have a good approach path I want to be sure I'm sitting in a good spot.
- Hungary and the Czech Republic aren't scheduled to join the Schengen area until January 1 of this year. Does that mean I'll get a passport stamp upon arrival in each country? (I'm always looking to add more!)
- What's the best way to get from the airport to the city? At BUD there appears to be a train from Terminal 1 (the LCC terminal) that goes straight to the main city station. If I take a bus from Terminal 2 and then catch the train at T1, is that the best option? At PRG I assume I'll want to catch a bus as well, since taxis are pretty much out of my price range.
- Where should I go to get views in each terminal? Is the observation deck at BUD's Terminal 2 still open?
Thanks in advance!
