Top 10 Ugliest Commercial Airplanes Ever

Mon Nov 12, 2007 5:22 am

Found this interesting site that lists their choice for top 10 ugly commercial airplane liveries.

http://fogonazos.blogspot.com/2007/1...-ugliest-commercial-airplanes.html

The Peter Max plane that a.net seems to love is #10 and the one I like, SWA Shamu is #1

Look at the list and what do you think about their choices?

I think the Salmon Three Salmon is a great looking aircraft. There are certainly other planes, especially from the old WP days that should be on the list.

It should really be the "Top 10 Ugliest Commercial Airplane Liveries" ever.

For current planes, I think the A380 is the ugliest of the bunch, but really, BFD. It gets the job done, and that is all that counts in the end.  thumbsup

Remember the Braniff International Alexander Calder colour schemes? I flew on both the DC-8 and 727! UGH
I love to fly, and it shows!

How come the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles A319s for US didn't make the list? I'd say those are pretty awful.

Anyway:
I would have added the Delta "Powerpuff Girls" up there to that list.
From their list, I agree with the awfulness of the "Pokemon" livery, the "Hello Kitty" livery, the McDonald's livery, the Simpsons livery, Shamoo One, and the Panda livery. I don't have an opinion one way or the other on the Disney birds or "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon", and I actually like the Aborigin Spirit, and the Peter Max birds.

However, my personal favorite special livery of recent memory has been the Boeing 757 "Spirit of Delta" for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olmpic Games.

Fogonazos is just complaining about paint. How about the planes?

The Shorts were pretty bad. The Bristol 170 was an ugly duckling.

It was nice, but I think it looked better on the 777.

I really liked the 757 with the Salt Lake 2002 logo on the tail, versus the speed-skater than was on the 777 tail. I even have one of the Gemini 1:400 models.  Smile

It seems like that this guy doesn't like special liveries in general. Some of those that he listed I think look quite alright as a unique livery. Certainly if you like the Simpsons (as I do) the Simpsons livery seems funny. The Peter Max one doesn't seem half that bad either - certainly not the top 10 ugliest.

The list is bullshit

First of all, he dissed the Aboriginal liveries of Qantas. That guy seems to be very insensitive to the cultural attachment of others and should therefore be ashamed of himself. I find those liveries a clever way to embrace the cultural heritage of Australia and present it to others around the world.

Some of the liveries I don't really care for anymore, yet that fact alone which I mentioned above just makes me show no respect for the individual who made the list.

O god pull your panties out of your crack

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and he hates the Qantas paints. Big deal he hates the Aboriginal paints. he didnt call Australian people ugly. He did not diss Aboriginies... he dissed the paint. Not a person. I mean shit if you get pissed about him talking about the Qantas paints then I will get pissed for him dissing Rosie Odonell and all other Killer Whales along with Salmons.

The McPlane wasn't Swissair, it was Crossair.

My aesthetically least favorites: the Peter Max 777, and any 737.
