Thai Air requires 50,000 miles of travel in the calender year following enrollment year to earn Gold status. I am short about 7,000 miles, and would like some help in doing mileage runs on US Air as Thai gives full mileage on all US Air ticket classes. I am based in Los Angeles.
The Gold status is valid for a period of two years and provides for a free RT upgrade. The free upgrade will be very valuable as I fly to India once a year--the difference in fare between economy and business class is around $3,000 between LAX-India.
BTW, this is the first FFP I have enrolled in; in the past I opted for the best value( I am self employed) and never bothered with accumulating miles. However, this year I made two trips to India on Thai, once in Y and the other time in J--hence the mileage accumulation and opportunity to earn Gold status.
My sincere thanks in advance for your help.
