Ever Flown The Same Airframe/Different Airlines?

Sun Dec 23, 2007 7:05 pm

Have you ever flown an airframe with an airline and then with another one, after it was sold to it?
I've never done it.

I have, i flew N301AW a 737-3G7 with America West from San Diego-Las Vegas, some years later, the plane had been sold to WN, reregistered N683SW, and i flew it again from Spokane-Seattle.

I'm not sure if it counts, but i flew the same CO DC-9 under 2 different registration numbers, i flew N3513T from Den-GJT in the early 80s, decades later, the plane had been reregistered as N18513, and i flew it again from IAH-OMA.
Yes, I'd like to see airbus go under so Boeing can have their customers!

Never flown the same airplane under different owners, but I have flown the same aircraft under different registrations. To be fair, it was our C414. When we purchased it, it was registered N1906K but the sellers wanted to retain that registration and apply it to a new King Air. We flew it for something like a year before they got their new plane and registered it. As soon as that occurred, our plane was re-registered as N42MW.

Nope, I have never done that. But would be really nice to do it.

Flew a couple of former Delta B727-232s while with Gulf Air Transport that later became cargo jets with FedEx where I flew them again. One of them later was a write-off at TLH.

N3301 I originally flew on with Western Airlines going OAK-SLC, then a few years later on DL doing SLC-PHX, and my first First Class experience on Delta with it on SJC-SLC.

I have in a way; some years ago I flew EC-HIX with Iberia, then flew it again last year on the BCN-MAD shuttle when it was under ownership of Audeli, but still being operated for Iberia. It's now with Icelandair, so perhaps I'll fly it again some time in the future!

I flew all of the Boeing 727s at FedEx as a crew. I had been a passenger on many of them when they served with Eastern, United, Braniff, and Air Atlanta. I have stacks of old boarding passes which prove it.

I don't know if it really counts, but I've flown the Swissair Asia MD-11 with Swissair, and then again with Swiss.

I've flown 9V-SMG of Singapore Airlines and then VT-AIE of Air India, both being a 747-400 with the same aircraft.

I have managed it once that I know of and probably twice without knowing it.
Way back in 1977 my dad took me to the USA, I was not really interested in the aircraft industry but I did keep a log of new aircraft types and airlines flown. I departed LAX on a DC9-32 of Hughes Air west which I remember distinctly because of the yellow aircraft I noted the Rego on that flight but not the destination. In 2003 I flew on Northwest on the exact same plane from DTW to CMH. It had been modernized and looked very much like a 717 on the inside. Ironically the other aircraft that I may have had twice was a 717. I used to fly quite regularly with Impulse Airlines when they started flying the 717 on domestic services out of Sydney and I think I had flown with every 717 in their fleet at the time. Since then the aircraft have been in service with Jetstar (only flew on their A320) and with Qantaslink. I have had a 717 on Qantas link so I think probably have been on the same 717 as well. As I no longer keep rego numbers I can not confirm this.
I remember when the DC-3 was new!
