What's The Biggest Plane You've Flown On?

Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:10 am

Hey, some people have only been on CRJ's. Not me, my biggest plane is a 757. Could be replaced with a 777 in March!

AA777 for me

The message you were about to post is too short and probably not of any higher value to the topic at hand. You should think long and hard before posting a message in this forum and make it detailed and a valuable addition to the topic discussed.

Well if biggest means longest then 346, but the 744 "feels" bigger. Even flying on the 380 wouldn't top the 346 though.

For me it would be a B747 for biggest and A340-600 for longest. Both on Virgin Atlantic JFK-LHR-JFK.

Also, another 747 on Tower Air, but worst flight of my life and don't want to think about it

Substitute JFK for EWR and it's exactly the same for me!

Also flew on LH's 346 and 744 doing EWR-FRA-EWR.

For me, it's a 744. SFO-LHR and return on BA back in 1999, and SFO-SYD and return on UA in 2004.

Longest - A340-600, South Africa, FRA-JNB-FRA in 2005
Biggest - B747-400, 19 times on SW(2), BA(5), CX(2), LH(6), SQ(2), UA(2)

Like lot's of others, I hope to be able to put the A380 on that list at some point, but unfortunately, it will not be 2008 for me - 2009 at the earliest...  Sad

Military aircraft: Hercules or VC-10
Military helicopter: Chinook

I was really young at the time, but I remember flying on a BY widebody, so I assume it was either a 762 or a 763 to PMI from MAN. Bit of a shame thats the biggest I've flown, but at least now I'll remember it when I fly on something a bit bigger.

For the longest time my biggest plane was the 757-200, but since this summer it's been the Airbus A330-300 (US Airways, CDG-PHL). I have however been on, but not flown on, the 747 at the Le Bourget museum. I'm not sure if that's a 741 or 742 though.

Nowadays my second-largest plane flown on is the 757-300.

In my case it would be a tie between 747-300 and 747-400. IIRC they are physically identical in size.

Pan Am 747-100 for me. It was an LAX-HNL flight back in the mid 80s. First and so far only flight on a 747. Sat 2 rows aft of door L4. I was a youngster then and that made the 747 seem so much bigger than what it is.

Not so long ago on a United 744 from LHR to SFO on Oct 3rd. I also flew KLM, Pan Am 743/742 in the past. I prefer flying the 777 though and hopefully one day I will fly the A380.

In February, the Airbus A380!!

Until that moment, the Boeing 747SR of All Nippon Airways (I think is little bigger than the 744) in the HND-KIX route two years ago in a configuration to carry 525 passengers.
