Have You Contacted Airports?

Thu Jan 31, 2008 12:47 am

I have contacted many Star Alliance airlines (see my signature) and airlines close to Star Alliance members. I have recently contacted Frankfurt Main (FRAport) and Halifax Stansted (Halifax International Airport). Have you ever contacted any airports?

Are you referring to just picking up a phone and dialing them?

Yeah, I contacted IAH to tell them their airport smelled REALLY bad vomit  . I don't know what it was, but going from DTW to IAH was a wake up call. Geez!  faint

I was very polite about it, I never used the words smelled bad, or reeked. I said "When I entered your airport I noticed a discomforting aroma through out the terminal."

I still never got a response.  frown

Contacted? What do you mean? to compliment or complain...?

I haven't but I have been contacted by an airport  Smile

I was having a job interview at CDG and at Terminal 3 I managed to leave my passport and documents (thank goodness right on the info counter where I asked for directions). They called me 10 minutes later and let me know they were keeping it for me!  Smile Was very lucky (and stupid to begin with!)

That was just the southeast wind that you smelled from the refineries in Deer Park and surrounding areas!!!  Smile

So who did you contact at the airport system and what terminal did you arrive in that stunk so bad?

I mean any general contacting airports (management or customer service)

With Frankfurt Main, I contacted the management, but with Halfax Stanfield, I used Customer Service  Smile

Well for the latter, customer service, really I could count every airport I have ever flown through as quite often I need to ask a question - such as where they have hidden the toilets this time!

I've contacted Plymouth airport quite a lot via phone to check if they are open when the weather is bad, but for all the others it's either via the website or customer service at the airport itself.

I've emailed the SXM website to tell them to update their air carriers page before...

I contacted Caroline Schneider, or whoever was the airport Customer service manager at the time (this was back in 2006) and still no response. I should send it again...

Yes you should but send it the Airport System Customer Service or Building heads.....never know they might answer.

What terminal do you remember?

I have contacted FRG ops before to let them know of accidents on a non-airport road that goes around the end of the runway. The accidents breached the security fences on the perimeter so I thought it would be good for the ops team to go take a look to verify if they were still in compliance with safety regs.
