UA B777 - LHR-LAX

Wed Mar 05, 2008 5:17 pm

I am flying out on UA from LHR-LAX on the B777 in Economy. May I know what I should expect on this flight. I mean what are the good and bad things about the service and the flight to LAX. I am continuing to LAS on A320 or A319 i think.

The plane does have individual video screens in the seatback with nine channels of video and around 20 of audio. It is not on-demand, however. Seat width is 18" in a 2+5+2 configuration. Pitch in Economy is 32" and in Economy Plus is 35". I have not flown UA international in Economy, so I cannot comment on catering quality.

I have no personal experience of UA, but from what I can gather you will probably have the ATC channel 9  Smile

I flew an international 777 on ORD-LAX back in Jan. '07. It was pretty nice. Like Stitch said, it is 2-5-2, 32" pitch in standard economy with PTVs. 9 channels video/20 audio (non-AVOD), but you do get the moving map and of course channel 9.

As for food, we weren't served food as I recall on that sector, so can't comment.
Scotty doesn't know...

My last UA B777 flight was in October 2006: space in Y class is OK, the food I remember was edible - not gourmet-restaurant, but OK.

Since I practically never use PTVs on flights, I can only say that there were some... but others have taken care of that already anyhow...  Wink
