Oslo Trip

Sun Mar 16, 2008 1:59 am

I've just booked a cheap return flight on FR for a couple of days in Oslo at the end of april and was wondering if anyone had any places they could recomend seeing or things to do. Also, where do you recomend staying. Many thanks

A cheap ticket to Oslo with FR is actually a couple hour train (rather expensive) train trip from Oslo. If you get a hotel, can one that is close to the center of town. Hopefully you have a good trip, weather can be great or it can be horrible, it's really just pot luck.

Thanks for the warning. I already looked up transport first to get a rough idea of the cost. Booked a hotel just opposite/ round the corner from the train station.

This is going to seem like a rather stupid question, but what is the national airline of Norway?
I sell airplanes and airplane accessories

Is that a trick question? I would say SAS.

For LCC there's Norwegian

For regional there's Wideroe

Oslo is a compact city, easy to navigate. For me the most interesting sight was the impressive Vigeland sculpture park, an absolute must in the summer at least, visited there on a hot July day 2006.
In Oslo I bought my most expensive beer ever, it's a very expensive city. We got nice food, if you like fish you travel to the right place.
In the night I and my Irish friend had a little conflict in a bar. After a few beers my friend wanted to know what the local guys thought about EU, if they would like to join etc and in the end couple of big boys told us where we could stick EU, especially me as a Finn  Wink
Chinese cookie in SFO: "You're doomed to a life of forever travelling abroad and to be able to afford it!"
