Best Seat In First Class On SQ 747

Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:08 am

Having spent a very long time accruing Krisflyer miles I am now booked SIN-LHR in First for the 12.45 departure next month. I have a choice of seats in the cabin.

Any recommendations?

Why did you not take the 23:30 A380 flight to LHR? I am sure that the Suites are better than the First class in the 747. (Even though the First class in the 747 is nothing to complain about either.)

Personally, I have only been on the SQ 747 in First twice, but I can give you some advice. Firstly, I can recommend seat 1 B. It is the only seat in the first row and it feels really private and exclusive. However, you may feel a little claustrophobic in this seat, because the aircraft seems to curve everywhere around you.

In addition, the view outside from this seat is not as good as 2 A and 2 F. Due to the curvature of the aircraft, you can almost see straight forward through the windows from these two seats, which is an experience in itself. If you are an aviation buff like me, you will enjoy 2 A or 2 F more.

I hope this helps. Regards,

These are most certainly the best seats in the First Class! I've been on the First Class of AI, only twice though! I was on 1A which seems to be equal to SQ 2A and what an amazing experience it was! I just loved every moment of those two flights! So go ahead, pick 2A or 2F as said by Globetraveller, nothing can get better than this!

Enjoy your trip!

I prefer 1B every time. If you are shallow like me you can pretend you are the only person on the plane. 1B is not the best for looking out the window, but then the flight you are on is a night flight so nothing to see anyway. There is a load hum that comes from the nose but that soon goes once you are in the air.

I do not believe you can book R via an Award at this time - revenue sales only.

I'm a fan of 2A, myself, when on a 747.
