Funny how much Viasa resembles Northwest's old red tail and Avensa resembles Pan Am's billboard livery.
Me personally, I most regret that I never got to fly on one of Pan Am's clippers. Those blue globes were a symbol of exotic travel. You thought "now that plane is really going somewhere."
I also really miss Eastern. It was flying Whisperliners JFK
when I was a kid that put the love of flying in me.
I love that AA
see the value in their brand and haven't changed it in decades.
's planes also reminds me of those trips to SJU
back in the day, and of what was perhaps a better time for flying. Living deep in DL
territory now, I don't get to see or fly them much anymore.
's livery is also timeless, but to me looked its best on the Concorde. I remember seeing one takeoff from JFK
once and to me it looked (and sounded) like some kind of spaceship. I swore I'd ride a Concorde someday, but never got the chance. I'll finally be flying on AF
later this year, but it'll be an A340. I guess that's as close as I'm going to get.
