No and no. Thats the short answer.
I got into this industry because I grew up in it. I'm a third generation airline employee and all I have ever wanted to do was work on airplanes. I do, and have for the past several years.
I went into this industry knowing the risks, and at the end of the day, I'm happy with my job. I don't do it for the money - no one should ever entertain the thought of coming into this industry for the money ... I do it for the love of airplanes and the love of this industry and what it once was. I fear what it is becoming and what it will devolve into ... but once you're bitten by the bug, it never gets out of your blood.
Trust me, I spend many days and nights wishing I had made a different career choice for financial reasons. But then I walk on the airplane the next morning and realize I'd rather be broke and happy than slaving away at a desk 40 hours a week, miserable, but financially secure.
Call me crazy.
