Do AC And BA Have Codeshared Flights?

Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:45 pm

Hi all,

I have a short question to ask.

This July I am booked on a flight from BRU to YYC via LHR.
The first leg (BRU-LHR) is operated by BA, the second (LHR-YYC) by AC. Do BA and AC codeshare on this flight?
If not, this would be the first time I connect between 2 non-codesharing airlines. Could there be any problems when I miss the connection? The time between flights is short and I have to change terminals at LHR.

Thx for helping!

AC and BA do not codeshare but I'm sure there are many AC/BA interline connections at LHR every day. As long as your connecting time is long enough you shouldn't have any problems.

Last September i flew BCN-YYC-BCN and my flight were a mixture of BA and AC. I don't really know all the terms that the word Codeshare implies but I do know that my flight was in 1 ticket, appeared both in BA and AC websites when consulting my booking, and all the check-in stuff was done in BA counter in BCN and AC in YYZ.

I used to fly AC from YLW-YVR on AC and then YVR-LHR-DUS on BA several times, and AC would not check my bags in through to DUS and would not issue a boarding card for BA even though the flights were on the same ticket. So, after my arrival in YVR I would have to collect my bags and check-in with BA. However, that was about 8 years ago, so they may have changed things.

If you are travelling to Canada and are landing at one airport and then continuing on to another Canadian airport you have to collect your bags and clear customs before you have to check in again for your connecting domestic flight.
