Your Itinerary Plans For 2008/2009

Sun Jun 29, 2008 2:53 pm

We are nearing the end of the first half of 2008. What are your 'flight plans' for the rest of 2008?

I am currently on a AONE6 and am adding a DONE5 after it. I have also added some KLM award flights.

24/7-29/7 - AMS - DXB - AMS on KLM in C
12/9-14/9 - AMS - LHR - AMS on KLM in Y
17/9-22/9 - AMS - LHR - AMS on KLM in Y
17/9-22/9 - LHR - DXB - LHR on BA in F

10/12 - AMS - LHR on BA in CE
10/12 - LHR - EZE on BA in F
17/12 - EZE - Bariloche on LAN in Y
21/12 - PMC - SCL on LAN in Y
24/12 - 29/12 - SCL - IPC - SCL on LAN in C
29/12 - SCL - LAX on LAN in C
31/12 - LAX - SYD on QF in F (A380)

2009 will be SYD-CHC-AKL-MEL-HKG-AMS-HKG-SGN-NRT-DPS-HKG-JNB-MRU-JNB//DAR-xLHR-JFK-DFW-YVR//LAX-NRT-DPS-HKG-PEK-LHR-DXB-LHR-DAR.

Two nice years of doing what I like. How about you?

I don't have any plans yet. I am flying mostly standby, so I plan my trip about 4 weeks before I have vacation.
In September 2008 I have 2.5 weeks vacation and haven't decided where to go and what to do, but still enough time until then...

Maybe heading back to Canada, it was lovely there. Thought about Australia, but during September? nah... Maybe 2009 Big grin

RE: Your Itinerary Plans For 2008/2009

For the rest of this year:

19/8-24/8 - LHR - MUC - BUD - FRA - LHR on Lufthansa in Y (A320, CRJ9, B735 and A306)
27/9 - 27/9 (day trip) - LCY-DUS-LHR on Lufthansa in Y (ATR42 and CRJ2)
22/11 - 26/11 - LHR - HEL - LHR on Blue1 in Y (MD90)

For 2009

28/3 - LHR - LAX on British Airways in Y (B744)
30/3 - LAX - SFO on Delta Connection in Y (E145)
2/4 - SFO - YYZ - YUL on Air Canada in C (A319 and A333)
5/4 - YUL - YYZ - BOS on Air Canada in C (E175 and E190)
12/4 - JFK - LHR on British Airways in Y (B744)

All 5 flights for my trip to the USA in 2009 cost less than £500 ($1000 or €635). Not bad seeing as the Air Canada flights are all in business class

I didn't pay the fuel surcharge on British Airways so those 2 flights came to less than £200 ($400 or €255) if you want to know how to do this, let me know and I'll happily share the secret

Nothing booked yet, but here are some tentative trips:

11/27/08 ATL-LAS
11/30/08 LAS-ATL

I'm also considering another ATL-LAS-ATL trip sometime late Spring 2009 (before it gets too hot in Las Vegas).

Another thought I'm having is a day trip to Washington D.C. where one of the legs will be a flight and the other leg being an overnight on AMTRAK.

Right now, my only booked trip is BOS-JFK-LAS-SLC-BOS next week.

Probably will be quite a bit more booked for the fall though.

OK, Booked 2008:

UA 946--7/14--IAD-AMS***Gives me enough miles for US award-ticket  spin
UA 919--7/27---LHR-IAD

Plans:

My family is trying to go back to MCO maybe in Aug. It seems we might be able to go with DL. If we take a SkyTeam carrier, chances are I will be able to earn my 2018 miles I need to get my award ticket. That might be the only time I would be happy to fly DL  Smile

Plans 2009:

Probably another trip to MCO, another People to People journey (maybe), and I hope I'll be able to visit my family in the Philippines that year.

Probable Dests.:
-MCO
-MNL
-Somewhere in Europe  Smile

Possible Dests.:
-YYZ
-PDX
-PHX

Airports I would like to go:
-MEM
-YUL
-JAX

Looking forward to this "last" business trip to Germany before our twins are born:

25.07.08 / CI 54 / BNE-TPE / C Class
25.07.08 / CI 61 / TPE-FRA / C Class
26.07.08 / LH 010 / FRA - HAM / Y Class
05.08.08 / LH 027 / HAM-FRA / Y Class
06.08.08 / CI 62 / FRA-TPE / C Class
09.08.08 / CI 53 / TPE-BNE / C Class

Really looking forward giving CI's C product a try and am a bit disappointed that they have replaced the A343 with the B744 on the TPE-FRA-TPE sectors.

Next trip will probably be im May 09 with the entire family (wife, 2 1/2 year old and 6 months old twins) from BNE to HAM as I have my 20 year school graduation party.

Cheers,

My only flight plan is:

LX - GRU-SCL on July 12th.
LX - SCL-GRU on July 18th.

The rest of the year I´ll be studying and working here in São Paulo...  cry
At least Swiss is a new airline for me, as well as SCL is a new destination!

Nice of them to let me know, just about 7 days in advance...  Yeah sure

Nice of them to let me know, just about 7 days in advance...

At least they DO let you know. UA and F9 didn't bother telling when the canceled flights...  Wow!

In 2007 I took my wife and 2 year old to the USA. My daughter travels very well so we will make another trip in 2009. Later in 2008 I have three trips for work. Shanghai, Jakarta and Madras all of which I will do alone. the Trip in 2009 will go via either Laos or Vietnam, then Moscow and probably Estonia, Netherlands, Iceland and several ports in the USA before returning home possibly via Noumea.
I believe my first work trip is already booked but I have not yet seen the itinerary, it usually includes both Shanghai and Beijing.
I remember when the DC-3 was new!

The re-timing email is quite funny actually;

Dear Sir,

We apologize for the situation.
We can understand why you would be a bit upset.

Then it shows the re-timed flights and that's it!  silly

The DOK-KBP flight is now confirmed, at 200 bucks for a boring 737 flight  Sad but it's the only way back from Maruipol. No idea who operates it, says DonbassAero with a 737-400, but they don't actually own any 737s...

Not nearly as exotic as Plymspotters travels but...

11/07/08 SYD-ZQN NZ A320 (Bit of RNP action there!)
18/07/08 ZQN-SYD NZ A320

24/08/08 SYD-LHR QF 748

27/08/08 PLH-LGW WOW DHC8

This will be my first ever flight from PLH (or on a Dash 8) after living there for many years, and ironically enough its now a long way from 'home' - really looking forward to it though!

Upon departure from DOK to VIE I saw a Donbassaero A320 standing there. Presumably Plymspotters aircraft (yes, we were travelling together)

I was hoping so, but then an AeroSvit B734 turned up  grumpy

Plans after that went totally haywire though, got to KBP for the flight to CWC and after much consultation they realised that it was departing from another airport... the city airport (Which I still can't spell so I won't try!) not Borispol, so off everyone was packed in a bus to that, where a nice WindRose Aviation An-24 was waiting, instead of the planned SAAB340. On return though the staff had never seen an E ticket before, it took three of the girls to work out what to do with it, and then the entire security department to ponder over the stamps and visas in my passport. Then they didn't know where it was going - literally; we took off not knowing if we were going to land at KBP or IEV, although it did touch down at Borispol in the end. Then my MotorSich Airlines An-24 turned into an An140... on which I met a friendly guy who had some friends picking him up who then also gave me a lift into the city, and gave me a full guided tour and night out. Awesome... certainly beat the Mariupol experience  bigthumbsup   Wink

Maybe heading back to Canada, it was lovely there. Thought about Australia, but during September? nah... Maybe 2009

Come to New York and hit up JFK and EWR with us locals!

I finished my 2008 flights (EWR-ZRH, ZRH-LCY, LGW-EWR with CO 764, AF RJ-85, and CO 752, respectively)

Nothing booked at all, but after applying for jobs and schools in Europe I may have to go in March for interviews and the like.

I have not really gotten further than this as far as concrete bookings go; but, obviously the last four segments will be resched because they are currently with Expressjet. Res. told me in an email:

Yes, our service with Express Jet will be ending on September 1, 2008.
Please be assured that Delta will automatically reschedule and rebook
your flights (3 itineraries) with our new Delta Connection Carrier for
the Los Angeles to Phoenix route.

I guess we will be seeing some different Delta Conx here.

I'll be flying 57AZ to COS and return in September. That'll be aboard our private airplane unless something comes up where I have to take a commercial flight. COS is maybe 2.5 hours from here, and 2.5 hours total transit time is much better than what the airlines can offer.

31/12 - LAX - SYD on QF in F (A380)

2009 will be SYD-CHC-AKL-MEL-HKG-AMS-HKG-SGN-NRT-DPS-HKG-JNB-MRU-JNB//DAR-xLHR-JFK-DFW-YVR//LAX-NRT-DPS-HKG-PEK-LHR-DXB-LHR-DAR.

I am afraid the A380 in F is not going to happen.  Sad In stead it will be a 747 on January 2nd. Still in F though.  Smile

2009 has changed a lot too. I decided to take a sabbatical end 2009. I have just ordered my RTW (DONE5) and paid, so the route is final:

2009 will be LAX-SYD-CHC-AKL-MEL-HKG-AMS-HKG-SGN-NRT-DPS-HKG-JNB-CPT-LHR-AMS-LHR-DXB-LHR-AMS-DXB-AMS-LHR-BOM-BKK

2010: BKK-CMB-SIN-DPS-SIN-HKG-PER-BNE-AKL-SYD-HNL-LAX-MIA-xLHR-NBO-AMS
