You can do it by train...

Change one in Vienna, takes total of 10 hours. Costs EUR145.60 (AUD243)

Look a www.bahn.de, click on the English icon top right.

Trains leave at just after 9, 11, and 13:00

Just buy a return ticket on Malev - it comes to Au$276 (return flight on the 23rd Oct. for example)

You might 'become ill' so you can't make the return flight  Wink

Well, the cheapest I have found:

Alitalia with a long layover in Milan and a need to tranfer from MXP to LIN (07:40 - 09:15 with MA, 16:20 - 17:50 with AZ) for € 127,23 (approx. AUD 213,75) through www.alitalia.com

I'd do the Malev option with a return flight a week later and simply "forget" about the return... Big grin

Wouldn't fancy doing that, total travel time is 10 hours and it's a 7.40am flight out of BUD...  yawn
