Other than the fact that NW used to run an article on the the reason it was like that on that side in the WorldTraveler, and the numurous posts here on a.net, i'll repeat it for the 10000000th time, the arrow symbolizes two things.. one it always means that it points forward on either side of the plane, thus the company is moving forward looking into the future, secondly its to mirror the other side of the plane.

That's how I saw it.
Doesn't matter though, if the merger goes through it will be a Delta logo.
Qantas is my favourite logo, American Eagle coming in second
