Was I A Little Too Critical On The 777?

Sat Aug 09, 2008 8:41 pm

This past June, I was bless with a chance to fly a UA 777 to my home city of Los Angeles, so I took it. The flight was UA 947 IAD-LAX, when I boarded the a/c I was impress at the size of the cabin. I knew the noise level in the cabin of a T7 was high, but when the pilots started the engines, it was like being on a bus, floor was vibrating and the engine was pretty intrusive. Another that thing that was strange to me, was how the a/c shooked take off. This was a shock for me. The fact that a plane this big shook so much on take off and landing was weird to me. I even wrote a post about it.
The flight back, was also a T-7, but this time the flight was smooth, but, It still shock on landing.
Now hear some thing I fail to write in my last post. My seat on both flights my seat was over the wing, a thunder storm just before we took off on the IAD-LAX flight.
Was I a Little critical on the T-7, are could it use some refinement.

I think that your flight was bumpy because you were right over the wing box and i think it was loud because you were right next to the wing.

I have sat in a similar seat on UA 777 and i didnt think either of those two was a problem.

I've flown on lots of 777's on a lot of airlines and I never noticed the noise difference with the 330/340 until it was pointed out.

It might be a bit noisier on takeoff and landing but cruise seemed quiet enough to me.

Maybe I'm just not the sensitive type...
What the...?
